1st behind-the-scenes look at Ron D. Moore's Outlander features brand new scenes + more Claire and Jamie

Starz has released the very first behind-the-scenes look at Ronald D. Moore's (Battlestar Galactica) upcoming time-traveling series Outlander.

The new video not only reveals some brand new scenes; it also features interviews with some of the main cast (including Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Lotte Verbeek and Graham McTavish) as well as with Moore and the book series' author, Diana Gabaldon.

Outlander tells the story of WWII combat nurse Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) who finds herself thrown back in time in 18th century Scotland where she meets Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a young Scottish Highlander and warrior.

Outlander will premiere on Starz August 9.
