Watch Sam Heughan's interview in which he discusses playing Outlander's Jamie Fraser + sex scenes and more

In which Sam Heughan discusses playing Jamie Fraser in STARZ's upcoming series Outlander, wearing a kilt vs. PVC, being flogged by Tobias Menzies (Rome, Game of Thrones) who plays Jack Randall, being a True Scotsman, sex scenes with co-star Caitriona Balfe, and we all DIE swoon.

First off, the Daily Record video interview taken during this past Sunday's Scottish Baftas:

Sam also went into a bit more detail about Jamie being constantly beaten and flogged:
"In the books you'll find that Jamie is constantly being beaten up or flogged and we've done some flogging scenes already that cause some pain. In one of the first scenes my shoulder is dislocated and there is scarring in my back too but it's mostly prosthetics."
About the STARZ series and the books by Herself, Diana Gabaldon:
"Outlander had a huge fan base so everyone has been so enthusiastic about it. There are eight books in the series so we are here for a year for the first book and then will see what happens.

"The cast and crew have already seen a private trailer for the show and its even better than we thought. There is action, romance, and politics. This is every actor's dream."
And as for whether Sam will bring his sexy on and about his co-star Caitriona Balfe:
"I hope I'm making Jamie sexy. The actress I'm working with, Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire Randall, is very sexy and beautiful and that makes life easier.

"It was the 1700s and there was no TV in those days so you had to find something to do."
